6-week beginner’s course – next starts 1st Aug 2016

The beginner’s course is ideal for people new to yoga, those keen to refresh their practice, or simply for yogis with some experience but who enjoy getting back to the basics. The course will emphasise correct technique and postural alignment. Step by step, you will learn:

  • Asanas – yoga postures
  • Pranayama – yogic breathing exercises
  • Savasana – yogic relaxation

When practised regularly, yoga provides physical, mental and spiritual benefits, and our aim is that by the end of the course you will have enough knowledge and understanding to establish a sound basic personal practice. You should also be able to comfortably attend any of the other classes here at TPY.

We encourage guys to come along too. So if your boyfriend/dad/colleague/mate has ever thought about trying yoga, this is the class get them started.

Start date: Monday 1st August

“As a person who had always heard about yoga and its benefits I was on the lookout for a beginner’s course as I felt a little intimidated just rocking up to a class. So, together with my 70-year-old mother, I signed up to the TPY 5-week beginner’s course. We found it challenging, but the way Taryn explained each pose made it easy to understand. Taryn is a delight – always warm, friendly, encouraging and full of knowledge.  As the weeks have progressed I have found myself getting stronger with the poses, even though I still fall over (literally) with some. The beginner’s course gives an excellent foundation in the different poses, posture, breathing and yoga in general.  All the teachers at TPY are so friendly and have such lovely spirits. I so look forward to my classes. See you all there. Namaste.”
