Join the Acoustic & Asana duo Georgina Dacheff and Lauren Pilat for their return to Twisting Peacock for a deeply grounding and soul-nourishing evening in honour of the Winter Solstice β€” the longest night and a powerful turning point from darkness back toward light.

Acoustic & Asana: Return to Light is a meditative journey that weaves together the stillness of restorative yin yoga with the healing resonance of live acoustic music.

As you flow through supportive yin postures lovingly led by Lauren, you’ll experience the magic of Georgina’s live original music where she combines guitar, piano, and angelic vocals to cultivate an intimate healing haven with medicinal melodies.

An experience beyond a practice or a performance. It’s a space outside of time that holds you, softens you, and reminds you that you are made of rhythm, breath, sound, and stillness.

The space will mirror the arc of the season: starting in dim candlelight as we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land and Makuru – the season of fertility that brings the first heavy rains, and sees the Scarlet banksia in bloom. Fire is important at this time and we will reflect this by cultivating your agni (or fire) within through pranayama (breathwork) to ensure you remain warm throughout while the dimmed lighting will slowly brighten, reflecting the seasonal change and (eventual) return of the sun.

You’ll be invited into silent reflection and intention-setting, supported by journaling prompts and a closing ritual.

George Dacheff:
Indie Folk Musician, George Dacheff, pours her soul’s truth through music, connecting people with beautiful melodies and poetic compositions.
Accompanied by her piano or guitar, alongside her distinctive folky vocals, a unique and divine sound is birthed. Featuring tales of the paths she has walked, facing the dark and awakening the light. Music is her greatest teacher, providing her a space like no other to discover the depths. Teaching her what it’s like in the calm of the ocean’s floor, while on the surface the wild storm continues. Dacheff said music taught her trust, and that while she may not always understand the music right away, it’s never wrong. “Always in tune with my heart even when it’s too loud for me to hear, out pours my truth,” she said. “It connects me to myself, and to all of you. This music is for me, but I would like to share it with you. May it bless you the way it blesses me. Pulling you from the outside in.”

Lauren Pilat:
Lauren was drawn to the lifestyle yoga encourages while on her continued pursuit of connection – to self, community, culture, and the universe. She nurtures the wisdom this ancient Eastern modality offers beyond the physical asana and honours yoga as a practice of mind, body and soul connection – both on and off the mat. Like many certified yoga teachers, Lauren never intended on teaching and enrolled in training for self-study and to connect further with her own inner intelligence. That inner intelligence later led her away from an 11-year corporate career as a journalist and out of newsrooms into yoga shalas and studios. Since then Lauren has added Kinesiology, Neuro Trainer, and Reiki practitioner to her qualifications to complement the mental, physical and spiritual elements of her yoga offerings. She is currently studying a Diploma in Counselling to further support people holistically. Lauren has a natural ability to connect with people and is conscious of making everyone feel welcomed and included. Her warm and supportive nature is reflected in her classes where she caters to each individual by offering an inclusive and accessible practice with a focus on mobility, stability, balance and subtle strength.
