The Iyengar yoga system of teaching is methodical and progressive, emphasising detailed correctness and absolute safety.

When necessary, you will use props that allow you to progress in your practice of postures safely at your own pace, to suit your body. If you are a beginner, you will work in a basic way on simple postures according to your capabilities. As you develop you then move on to more refined ways of working as well as to more complex postures.

Iyengar yoga is suitable for all types of people, abilities and levels of fitness
You’ll learn through a carefully graded and systematic program of Asana (posture), suited to your ability
Practice helps you to relax and energises the body and mind, bringing vitality, flexibility, strength, concentration, self-confidence and mental calm
Iyengar yoga can help you overcome and prevent many stresses, strains, aches and pains. It promotes a firm foundation for health and well-being
This Iyengar style that our senior teacher Adam is bringing to TPY is a beautiful mix of Iyengar & Hatha yoga. Adam will take you on a deep explorational journey into the internal physical alignment of the body and in turn the mind.Β

Expect to use props in a systematic manner to reveal an intricate and detailed understanding of your physical postures and the mental states we wish to achieve during our practice.

Β This mindful practice is used as a tool to cultivate incredible mental focus to bring practitioners into the state of yoga.

Β This class will be highly educational, and help you develop your practice in a safe environment while having a whole lot of fun along the way.
